Beth Dutton’s Breakfast Smoothie Recipe from Yellowstone

Beth Dutton’s famous “2 scoops of ice-cream, 3 shots of vodka” breakfast smoothie from Yellowstone. I developed Beth’s smoothie recipe for my Unofficial Yellowstone Cookbook by carefully watching the scene and sourcing the exact details. Put it together in five minutes, drink it through a straw, and fling the garnish into the bushes.

What Makes This Recreation Special?

I analyzed the scene to match the glassware, the garnish, and the color of the drink itself. The Baskin-Robbins Triple Mango ice cream produces the exact pale orange hue visible in Beth’s glass on screen. The orange slice and maraschino cherry garnish match what Gator brings to the table. Everyone knows that Tito’s is Beth’s vodka of choice. The same glassware used in the Dutton family home is also sourced and linked in my Unofficial Yellowstone Cookbook resource guide. Heck, the wall it’s photographed on is even similar to the rock pillars on the Dutton family ranch house porch. This is the closest you can get to drinking exactly what Beth Dutton drank – right down to where you put the garnish when you’re done with it.

Notes

What episode is the Beth Dutton smoothie scene? The Beth Dutton smoothie scene appears in Season 2, Episode 8 of Yellowstone, "Behind Us Only Grey." Beth arrives at the Dutton family table after a very difficult night and asks Gator for a restorative smoothie.
Why Baskin-Robbins Triple Mango ice cream? The Triple Mango flavor produces the pale orange color visible in Beth's glass in the scene. It also balances the vodka with a tropical richness that keeps the drink smooth and drinkable rather than harsh. The color match was confirmed by analyzing the scene carefully — it's the detail that separates a faithful recreation from a guess.
What vodka should I use? Tito's Handmade Vodka is the recommended choice. It's a smooth, unflavored Texas-made vodka that blends cleanly with ice cream. Three shots is 4½ ounces. Beth didn't measure. You probably should the first time.
What glassware does Beth use in the scene? The exact glassware used in the Dutton family home is sourced and listed in The Unofficial Yellowstone Cookbook resource guide. Getting the glass right is part of what makes this a true scene recreation rather than just a smoothie recipe.
What other Yellowstone recipes can I make? The Unofficial Yellowstone Cookbook covers the full range of Dutton family ranch cooking. For other Yellowstone drinks try the Fire & Fury spicy bourbon whiskey cocktail or the Montana Whiskey Mule. For Yellowstone food, the flourless chocolate cake with steak and funeral potatoes are fan favorites from the cookbook.
